Analysis of Factors Affecting the Actual Exhaust Volume of Oil-free Screw Air Compressors
Jul 07 , 2025

The advancement of the technological era has led to an increasing number of mechanical devices replacing manual labor. The rise and prosperity of the compressor industry have also driven the development of many related sectors. As one of the compressor types, oil-free screw air compressors have become highly popular today. Regardless of the model, users must pay attention to the selection of exhaust volume when purchasing a machine. Often, the parameter-labeled exhaust volume is greater than the actual exhaust volume, as the latter is influenced by other factors. So, what are the factors that affect the actual exhaust volume of oil-free screw air compressors?

Factors affecting the actual exhaust volume of oil-free screw air compressors:

1. Temperature.

Ambient temperature affects the intake volume. Under the same volume, higher temperatures result in lower air density and reduced exhaust volume, while lower temperatures lead to higher exhaust volume.

2. Rotational speed

The speed of an oil-free screw air compressor is directly proportional to its exhaust volume. The main factors influencing speed are grid voltage and frequency.

3. Leakage

During operation, the rotors and the compressor housing cannot come into contact, leaving a gap between them, which causes air leakage.

4. Losses

The compressed air is delivered to the equipment through connecting pipelines. Excessive bends or long pipelines can result in certain losses of compressed air.

5. Cooling efficiency

During compression, the air temperature rises. According to the principle of thermal expansion and contraction, poor cooling efficiency leads to a reduction in exhaust volume.

Of course, the factors affecting the actual exhaust volume of oil-free screw air compressors are not limited to these. Users must take this into account when selecting a machine to avoid insufficient exhaust volume during future use, which could hinder production.
